Mouse models of mitochondrial DNA disease
The MRC National Mouse Genetics Network’s MitoCluster is organising a course covering the basics of mitochondrial DNA genetics and engineering in human disease and mouse models.
This seminar series will include:
– Overview of mitochondrial genetics and disease
– Basics of mitochondrial DNA (mtDNA) structure, function and engineering
– Historical models of mitochondrial disease
– Development of mouse models using modern technology (phenotype-first models and mtDNA base editing)
– Resources available through MitoCluster and the Mary Lyon Centre
