Bridging Boundaries: Innovating, Connecting & Reshaping Drug Repurposing

We are thrilled to announce the return of our Drug Repurposing for Rare Diseases conference. But this year, it’s looking a little different!

This time around we are teaming up with REMEDi4ALL and MeRIT to deliver the first international drug repurposing conference, #iDR24, taking place on 6th – 7th March 2024 in Barcelona.

As a global event, Bridging Boundaries: Innovating, Connecting & Reshaping Drug Repurposing will bring together key opinion leaders, researchers and patient advocates to collectively drive innovation for repurposing in Europe and beyond.

Alongside exploring the work occurring in the rare disease space, we will also shed light on repurposing in cancers and the latest developments in repurposing methodologies

Early bird tickets are now available!

What’s in store…

We are excited to announce the conference will feature three pathways: drug repurposing in rare diseases, drug repurposing in cancer, and drug repurposing methodologies. Beacon is leading the rare disease pathway to showcase the new advantages and challenges in this field.

Across two days, we’ll be exploring:

  • Why care about repurposing for rare diseases? Delving into the potential of repurposing in rare diseases, benefitting stakeholders from patient groups to the pharmaceutical industry
  • Leading a drug repurposing project: a panel focused on challenging the status quo in repurposing research
  • The evolving rare disease landscape exploring past successes, initiatives in progress and asking how collaboration and scalability can systemise the repurposing approach

Of course, it wouldn’t be a Beacon-led pathway without the return of our lightning talk session! For your opportunity to present a 5-minute talk during the conference, be sure to register and submit your proposal by 31st January.

Head over to the official conference website to view the full programme and meet our confirmed speakers!
