Strategic planning and sustainability

Online | RareChat

We’re excited to announce our next RareChat!

In this 90-minute online session, we invite you to join an interactive discussion on strategic planning for patient groups.

This is a valuable opportunity to connect with rare disease patient leaders, share insights and experiences, and discuss the challenges you face in business planning and long-term strategy development.

Why does strategic planning matter?

As patient groups grow, so do the challenges: hiring staff, managing finances, juggling multiple projects, and ensuring long-term sustainability.

Strategic planning is crucial to navigating these hurdles, but knowing where to start, staying on track, and adapting to change can be overwhelming, especially with limited time and resources.

What we hope you’ll gain:

  • Hear from other rare disease advocates and learn from their experiences.
  • Find reassurance in shared journeys and challenges.
  • Build relationships with others in the rare community.
  • Shape our future training to align with your needs.

Join us to discuss

    • Where are you on your strategic planning journey?
    • What challenges or barriers are preventing you from developing or implementing a business plan?
    • Have unforeseen challenges or opportunities impacted your plans?
    • What training, resources, or guidance would help you develop a stronger, more sustainable strategy?
    • What key elements will you include in your business plan, and how do they align with your organisation’s broader goals?

Come along to share your opinions and hear from your fellow patient group leaders. Spaces are limited so sign up now!

Please note: this is a discussion, not a training event, which will go to inform Beacon’s plans for future trainings and resources. This meeting will include live transcription and captions.

What is a RareChat?

RareChat is a chance to connect informally with other patient group leaders and advocates in the rare disease community. Each session will have a carefully selected theme and a Beacon team member to chair the discussion.

The sessions are designed to provide a space for the rare community to connect, share experiences and ideas informally, as opposed to receiving training on the topic.
