Say hello to our new Senior Operations Officer, Kate!

Dec 18, 2025

We’re so excited to introduce Kate our new Senior Operations Officer, who joined the Beacon team this November.

Get to know one of the newest members of our team and email her at kate@rarebeacon.org to say hello.

Welcome to the rare family, Kate!

What were you doing before you joined Beacon?

I’ve had a varied career that has included working in documentary television production, fundraising and events in the charity sector, working with the public in a civil service role and roles within operations and administration.

Why did you choose to join the Beacon team?

I’ve always been interested in people, and their life experiences and Beacon’s mission and values really spoke to me.

I felt like it would be a great opportunity to bring my varied experience into a role that would help support a team and organisation that is making a tangible difference in people’s lives.

What do you want to achieve most at Beacon?

I hope I can bring the experience I have to help support the organisation and the people at the heart of it – patient support groups – in any and every way possible.

What are your hobbies outside of work?

I love walking in all forms. It’s a great way to get out in the world and to get to see and know a place and the people in it.

What’s your favourite book/film/TV show and why?

I don’t think I can pick one, but I love the movie ‘About Time’ – I’m a bit of a sucker for a cheesy film!

And that’s a wrap!

We hope you enjoyed getting to know a little more about one of our newest Beaconites Kate.

Remember to email her to say hello and join us in welcoming Maddie to the rare family!
