The Jeans for Genes Grant Programme is now open for applications!
Organised by the CGD Society, the annual Jeans for Genes campaign raises vital funds to support individuals and families affected by genetic conditions.
The campaign encourages employees and pupils across the UK to wear their jeans to work or school in exchange for a small donation.
These donations are then distributed as grants to disorder-specific charities, helping to improve the lives of those affected by genetic conditions.

Now, eligible charities have the chance to apply for funding through two different grant streams:
- Core Costs Grant: This single-year grant of £5,000 is to support small genetic condition charities to cover essential operational expenses, ensuring they can continue delivering crucial support.
- Project Funding Grant: Genetic condition charities are awarded a single year grant of up to £20,000, providing financial support for new and ongoing projects.
Hear from our CEO!

It is great to see the Jeans for Genes Grant Programme returning to the rare disease space.
It is increasingly hard for patient groups to access funding to support their work, and either a £5,000 core funding grant, or a larger project grant could be transformative to many groups.
We encourage patient groups to get your applications in over the next couple of weeks, and let us know about your experience!
